Title Sequence Thoughts

So I totally want to rip-off this title sequence, and(at this point) use this
cover of "I wanta be sedated", for the music.

Production Stills

Shot by Ryan Miller, Noelle Lynn, Bryce Mackie, Matthew Hughes.
This is definitely the way to shoot stills, a nice camera(thanks Matt), that everyone,
gets the opportunity use...

Maps...

I like making maps....something from my Dungeon Master Days...I made these a few years ago(I used them for the CD FACE of "State and Main"). I added the names of the streets(in photoshop)to coincide with dialog in the Movie...In my first cut I included a map, I still might...You know where you are with maps.....

Additionally, I thought it might draw the audience into the city...Your not supposed to know or think it's Chicago...I also used the map, because I couldn't find an establishing shot that really captures the HEIMDALL TUNNEL....Slimy is walking down steps(for example). Where we shot the tunnel scene, from the outside(god bless it and all it's glory) is really less that cinematic...at least to me...
No offense Chicago.

Sound Track(?)

Forgot I have this, It's got the line "when the sun goes down"...I just don't know if it sets the right tone or vibe...but it definitely, makes for a gnarly intro..."Oh, this is a Fucked up Town"...I also(if I use it) have to shorten it....blah, blah, blah......

"Im SOOO fired"

Here it is...."the end"....J("The Messenger") cranked this out...I probably spent more time
adding the tambourines....The tambourine sounds with be Batailles("Homeless Man") que to hit the plate with the hammer.

Sound Design Part 1

Totally Happenstance, I clicked on this clip and it starts talking about rats,
perfect, then I did some editing after that. this is just a start, for the movie,
it will probably run about 3 mins....

editing Continues...(continues)

HEIMDALL TUNNEL
Got a rough cut done of scene 10,
Sweetness(Noelle Lynn) and Sparky(Jason Chapman) wait for Slimy(Kevin Lucero Less) in the Heimdall tunnel. Slimy arrives suitcase in hand....This is a little nod to my favorite character in Taxi Driver "Fast Eddie" The Traveling Salesman of illicit items....anyway, Kevin, truly makes it his own.....(a warm thank you)

Figured out more sound design, pretty much the thread that runs through the piece.

Editing Continues.....

worked on a rough cut, Saturday night at work.....
experimented with dissolves, don't think I'll be using that device.
It looks like the jump cut will be the main weapon in the editing arsenal.
for the most part, took sunday night off,due to exhaustion, however, started on the tunnel footage.

dumped old edits and started fresh tonight.
Scene 8.
think I got something solid, to be honest.
I started with the tightest master, and worked out from there.
My reason twofold, one, the widest has some nice improvising(thanks Noelle)
and two, it's meant to pull back from the audience....the character's are fading...
Additionally, starting with the tightest master, also makes a smooth/ but not to smooth jump cut
from the previous scene.
also experimenting with flipping the image(horizontally) and adding a
color for a few seconds. then switching back to Black and White.
It's meant to accent the dialogue about "reality".

Tried some sound design....nothing particularly
grabbing, in terms of context, however, content
wise I think it will work (sound bites, from an am radio program).
we shall see.
